The centre appropriately named Sampradaya was inspired by the musical integrity and genuine affection of H. Ramachandra Shastry (my own teacher) and Savithri Rajan (the teacher of my associate, Michael Nixon). Neither is with us anymore, but happily both lived to a ripe old age and remained devoted teachers all their lives. Their memories are therefore vivid and precious even today.
