A series of eight lecture-demonstrations to take Carnatic music enthusiasts through a journey of appreciating musical aesthetics. This series will be a comprehensive and authoritative exposition of the aesthetic thought process of Carnatic music with a sharp focus on practical applications and manifestations of this thought process on the concert stage. The content of each episode will be curated to ensure that theoretical aspects and technical nuances will be presented in an accessible and lucid manner with pertinent illustrations, anecdotes and insights. About half of the time will be devoted to demonstration, both for better engagement with concepts, as well as for listening pleasure. This series will have something to offer to people of all levels; from novice to connoisseur and from the uninitiated to the aficionado.
