Sudha Ananthakrishnan is a well trained carnatic music vocalist based in Rochester Hills, MI. She performs Carnatic vocal concerts and is also an experienced teacher. She has served as faculty at SaPa school of music (run by Vid. L Subramaniam and family) and Shankar Mahadevan Academy.
Born and raised in Ernakulam, Kerala, she has been learning Carnatic music since the age of 5, from a few different teachers, namely Late Smt. Malathy Rama Varma, Smt. Girija( currently a lecturer at RLV college of fine arts, Kerala) Late Smt.Padma Narayanan, and late Smt. Lalitha Suryanarayanan(a senior disciple of Vid. Bombay Alamelu Mani). She has also learned from Prof. Kumara Kerala Varma, Dr. Malini Hariharan and Shri. K.N. Shashikiran. Currently, she is under the able tutelage of Vid. Sri G. Ravikiran.
On the educational front, she has a Master’s in Biotechnology from Cochin University of Science and Technology. She also has 4+ years of research experience in molecular biology, both in India( CSIR – fellow) and in the U.S. A few years back, she decided to take up music full-time.
She has won numerous awards and accolades from various organizations/competitions – Shri Poornathrayeesa Sangeetha Sabha, Ernakulam, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s All Kerala Bhavans Youth festival, Sargam youth festival conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology, Sangeethabhooshanam M R Sivaraman Nair memorial competitions, to name a few. She was awarded a certificate for “Outstanding talent in music” from her school, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tripunithura, Cochin, for the academic years 1998-1999 and 2001-02.
Deekshitha has been learning violin from Sri Jayshankar Balan and vocal from Smt. Lavanya Vaidhyanathan. She has accompanied various artists in both dance and music concerts and arangetrams across the US as well as Chennai. She is currently a Data Scientist at Cigna while also pursuing her Masters in analytics at Georgia Tech.
Vinod Seetharaman is among the most accomplished and sought after first generation Carnatic percussionists in the United States. His Mridangam performances have won him wide appreciation from audiences. His training in Mridangam started at the age of seven from Shri. Ardhanareeswaran, and he continues his advanced training from Bangalore Shri. Arjun Kumar and Shri. Umayalpuram Sivaraman. The purity and sophistication of Vinod’s mridangam training has enabled him to not only accompany an astonishing variety of musicians, but also given him the freedom to innovate and create meaningfully. Vinod has shared the stage with at least four generations of Carnatic musicians that includes Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, T N Seshagopalan, Dr. N Ramani, Chitravina Ravikiran, Neyveli Santhanagopalan Abhishek Raghuram, etc. Vinod is passionate about keeping up the purity of his traditional legacy even in collaborative ventures. He has composed and arranged the rhythm for many percussion ensembles. He is a popular teacher, and his students are regular features in music festivals and competitions. His vision is to work with a variety of musicians and propagate Indian percussion to diverse audiences across the globe.
