Sankari Krishnan

Born in a family of teachers of high repute, Sankari Krishnan attributes her interest in music to her parents, Shri S. Maniam and Smt Seetha Maniam who encouraged her to pursue Music as a profession.

Sankari Krishnan M.A. M.Phil (Music), a gold medalist from the University of Madras, was initiated into music at Thiruvanaikoil, Trichy by Shri K.S.Subramanian. His encouragement had fired a passion in Sankari to pursue music as a career. While doing her post graduation in Music in Chennai, she had the good fortune of becoming a disciple of one of the greatest maestros of all times, Padmabhushan Lalgudi Shri G.Jayaraman. This privilege continued uninterrupted for more than twenty years until the great Guru left his mortal coils. She has been fortunate to absorb his music and become a responsible torch bearer of the great Lalgudi bani.

Charulatha Ramanujam Kandadai

Among the more talented violinists in the Carnatic music circuit today, Charulatha, balances delicately well between her manodharma during her solo turns as well as during her faithful and able support to the main artiste with assurance and finesse. Charulatha is one of the leading violinists from Bangalore and her popularity can be gauged from the fact that she is one of the most sought after accompanists for a wide range of established musicians. Charulatha has been a successful core member of an orchestra team – The Indian National Orchestra – an ensemble of over 25 instruments with Smt Jayanthi Kumaresh on the lead.

An ‘A’ grade accredited violinist in All India Radio (AIR), Bangalore, Charulatha has been featured in the South Zone hook-up of AIR and Doordarshan. She has been featured in AIR and Doordarshan’s National Programme of Music and Akashvani Sangeetha Sammelan. Besides, she has been featured in several private Broadcasting Channels, as a soloist and also as an accompanist. Charulatha has won many accolades like the Best Accompanist at the Spirit of Youth concerts in The Music Academy, Chennai (1986-Ambujam Krishna Award & 1987-Best Accompanist). Her other honours include Ananya Yuva Puraskara (2002) and the prestigious Kalki Krishnamurthy Award (2012) and the Best Violin Accompanist Award in the Senior concerts of Indian Fine Arts, Chennai (2013).

V.S. Raghavan

V.S. Raghavan is a performer, composer, educator, researcher, and entrepreneur. He is considered a top-class mridangam player, and has accompanied legends of Indian Classical music. He received his initial mridangam training from the late Kumbakonam Rajappa iyer, and advanced training from maestro, Sri. Patri Satish Kumar. Starting at the age of nine, he has performed more than 1600 concerts as well as collaborator in diverse music and dance ensembles. His prodigious talent, deep knowledge of Indian Classical music, and cross-genre musical collaborations have enabled Raghavan in expanding and taking traditional music in new directions. His exposure to different styles of music has helped him collaborate with eminent symphony orchestras, jazz ensembles, and musicians including Jazz Queen Dana Gillespiee and Tim Cross.

Ramshankar Ananthan

Ramshankar Ananthan is from Columbus, Ohio. He plays tabla at the Sai Center in Columbus. He also accompanies visiting Hindustani singers on tabla. He originally learnt tabla from Mr K.C Radhakrishan Nair in India and then from Prithviraj and Pandit Ramdas Palsule in the US. He teaches tabla at Swaranjali school of music. He is currently an architect in Salesforce.
