All of you are invited to a social hour and tea at 3 PM.
Talk by Sree Aswath will begin at 4:00 PM and the dance program will follow the talk.
Every human being seeks harmony in his/her life. Life’s challenges leave us with a sense of longing and a feeling of alienation. Is it so possible to live a life where not only one is happy but can also make others happy – and importantly, all the time? What is then the secret for everlasting peace and happiness, according to our ancient scriptures like the Upanishads? When is the pursuit complete?
In her third production“ Purushaartha”, Yuva Kala Bharathi, Pavithra Srinivasan explores the answers to these questions by drawing upon interesting verses and stories from the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita and brings them to life through the reflective, sensitive canvas of the classical Indian dance form of Bharatnatyam.”
Pavithra Srinivasan is among the most inspired and dedicated Bharatanatyam dancers of her generation. Known for her exquisite facial expressions, grace and simply beautiful execution of footwork, she has given several performances in prestigious organizations in India, UK, USA, Europe and Canada that have enraptured audiences. “Natyam (Dance) to me is pure joy! Not only do I revel in its transcendence of the ordinary, but also in the appreciation of beauty and wisdom that this rich cultural heritage offers. It is a great prayer that connects me to God”. Pavithra continues to research, compile and present insightful themes in her dance repertoire.
