Sikkil Gurucharan
Sikkil Gurucharan is a leading musician and a youth ambassador for Carnatic music. A prime time artist during the Chennai music season and a recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar Award, Kalaimamani and Tchaikovsky Award for the best musician of the year among many, Gurucharan has not only made a mark in the traditional concert paddhati style but also worked to broaden audience appeal by creating collaborative projects with world renowned musicians while retaining the spirit of the art form. In 2015, Gurucharan received a Nehru-Fulbright Excellence Award, and was in residence at UC Davis between January and April 2015.
The album “Miles from India”, a collaborative effort, was nominated for the Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the 51st Grammy Awards. The magazine India Today featured him among 35 Game Changers under the age of 35 in India. The Tamil Nadu Government conferred its highest honour of Kalaimamani on Gurucharan in 2020.
V Sanjeev
Sanjeev V, is a prime disciple of Violin Maestro A. Kanyakumari. He is one of the foremost performing violinists in the Carnatic music circuit. Being a performing musician since 1994, Sanjeev has achieved laudable excellence in this art form. He has gained considerable reputation in the field of Carnatic Music after having travelled all over the globe for musical performances. Sanjeev is also a composer and has composed several compositions using Carnatic ragas in a Western symphonic setting.
Once a full time employee in a leading multi national software company, Sanjeev is now a self employed professional managing his own publishing house in Chennai. He has won several awards including Shanmukha Sironmani, Yagnaraman award of excellence and best violinist from The Music Academy.
Delhi Sairam
Delhi Sri Sairam is a disciple of Mridangam Maestro Kalaimamani Dr. Thiruvarur Sri Bakthavatsalam. He is a post graduate First Rank holder in Rhythmology from the University of Madras. He has also won several awards like the ‘Kalaimamani’ by the government of TamilNadu, ‘Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, ‘Yuva Kala Bharathi’ from Bharat Kalachar, ‘Best senior mridangist’ award from The Music Academy, Chennai, ‘Laya Lavanya Trust Award’ from Padmabhushan Umayalapuram Sri Sivaraman to name a few.
His energetic yet sensitive style of accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists alike has won him critical acclaim all over India and abroad. During the past 20yrs he has given nearly 2000 performances accompanying eminent senior artists and promising and upcoming musicians. He has toured the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Abhudhabi with several artists and performed at prestigious international festivals and venues.
He has had the good fortune of sharing stage alongside his guru on a few occasions, one such being the Guru Shishya Parampara series under the auspices of the Delhi international arts festival, India international centre. He has been part of various jugalbandhis and rhythmic ensemble concerts.
He is a visiting faculty of the Kalaikovil Academy of Fine Arts in Toronto, Canada for the past 11 years. He has the credit of training several students for their arangetram (maiden performance) and further.
